Chelsea are considering a move to sign former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez to replace Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
Premier League champions are looking at Hernandez as a potential option to replace Spain international Costa this summer.
The same article states that Chelsea expect Costa to leave Stamford Bridge and Antonio Conte is considering a move to sign Hernandez as a ready-made replacement.
According to the same story, Hernandez is a potential option alongside Alvaro Morata, Andrea Belotti, Mauro Icardi and Timo Werner to bolster their attacking options.
Hernandez left Manchester United in 2015 after Louis van Gaal deemed the Mexico international surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
The Mexican forward scored 17 times in 28 games in the Bundesliga in his first season with Bayer Leverkusen but could only muster 11 goals in the 2016-17 campaign.
Chelsea are expected to sell Costa to Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window but a deal hasn’t materialised so far despite Antonio Conte deeming the striker surplus to requirements
